City of Grove issued the following announcement on January 26.
Construction Update: the northbound lane on Demorest Road (south of Grove City Road), from Rockledge Street to Rimrock Avenue, is closed for sanitary line installation work. The southbound lane is open to two-way traffic with directional signage. Demorest Road from Rimrock Avenue to Chickasaw Drive, is closed to thru traffic through Friday, Feb. 4 for roadway repairs. Motorists should follow the posted detours, Demorest Road to Redwood Court to Rishel Street to Chickasaw Drive to Demorest Road and reverse.
Preliminary work on the Demorest Road Corridor improvements project is underway. Crews are installing temporary pavement on the west side of Demorest Road, traffic is maintained in both directions between Grove City Road and Basswood Drive.
The Demorest Road Corridor Improvements project will extend along Demorest Road between Chickasaw Drive on the south and Basswood Avenue on the north. The major construction activity will occur between Rockledge Street and Basswood Avenue, where the roadway will be widened and reconstructed to include a center turn lane with curbs, sidewalks, a shared-use path and new street lighting along with sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main improvements.

OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CLOSURES
US 62 Southbound I-71 Ramp Closure
The ramp from US 62 to I-71 southbound closes as part of the I-71 widening project in southwest Franklin County. The ramp will be closed until December 2022 as crews replace and reconstruct the southbound side of the I-71 bridge over US 62.
Traffic on I-71 southbound at US 62 will shift to the northbound side. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions. This traffic pattern will be in effect until December 2022.

Speed Limit Change | Haughn Road from Columbus Street to Mayfair Drive
The speed limit on Haughn Road from Columbus Street to Mayfair Drive has been reduced to 25 mph. The change follows a recent traffic study recommendation.
HOME ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
Home Road is open to traffic. Please use caution as you navigate the area, work in the right-of-way continues.

COLUMBUS STREET EXTENSION
The extension of Columbus Street and new at-grade railroad crossing will allow for the redevelopment of the adjacent parcels and provide connectivity to the former Beulah Park site. The improvement consists of a new public roadway, ancillary infrastructure improvements including storm sewers, waterlines, streetlights and sidewalks.

SOUTHWEST BOULEVARD WIDENING
- The Southwest Boulevard widening to five lanes, west of the railroad crossing, is underway through February 2022. Both eastbound and westbound traffic will be maintained.
GROVE CITY STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
The Grove City Street Program work is planned weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the end of the year. Please plan your commute accordingly and use caution in the construction areas. All work is weather permitting.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS
The City of Grove City is conducting a Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Improvement project at four locations throughout the City.
Hoover Road and Kingston Avenue Intersection
Improvements for this intersection include the installation of two mast-arm sign signal supports and associated equipment to convert this T-intersection to a four-way signalized intersection. This project is associated with the Schoedinger Funeral Home site. Intermittent lane restrictions will be in place during work hours.
Please plan your commute accordingly and use caution in the area. All work is weather permitting.
