City of Obetz recently issued the following announcement.
We are expecting a winter storm to move into Obetz late Wednesday night into Thursday. While the weather models are not always accurate, there appears to be a significant risk of ice forming in the early hours of Thursday followed by snow accumulation Thursday evening.
The City crews are prepared and will be out in force to address the storm. The ice is particularly dangerous and could lead to power outages. Please do what you can to prepare for the storm including moving your cars and other obstructions (trash cans, basketball hoops, etc.) from the streets to allow the plows to get full access to the roadways.
The City will close all its offices, the Obetz Athletic Club, the Obetz Conference Center, and the Obetz Ice Rink on Thursday and Friday. We anticipate reopening on Saturday—weather permitting. Check our website and social media for updates.
NOTE: The Obetz Ice Rink will be closed tonight as well due to the rain.
