City of Grove issued the following announcement on March 10.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

2022 Street Maintenance Program

The City of Grove City, through the City Administrator, will receive sealed bids for the 2022 Street Maintenance Program via Bid Express, until 11:00 a.m. local time on Mar. 25, 2022 and at that time and place will be publicly opened and read aloud. Grove City will neither open nor accept bids received after that time. Subject to the right of Grove City to reject any or all bids, Grove City will award contracts to the bidder(s) submitting the lowest and best bid(s). The work for which Grove City is inviting bids consists of the following:

Contract A

  • Base Bid: Over 43,000 square yards of asphalt resurfacing with spot full-depth repairs, over 8,000 square yards of asphalt reconstruction, spot and continuous curb placement, curb ramp replacement, brick crosswalk repair and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 1: Over 22,000 square yards of asphalt resurfacing with spot and continuous curb replacement and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 2: Over 8,000 square yards of shared-use path asphalt resurfacing with spot full-depth repairs and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 3: Installation of over 1,200 square yards of new asphalt and crushed limestone shared-use path, removable bollards, over 180 square yards of shared-use path asphalt resurfacing with spot full-depth repairs, topsoil, seeding and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 4: Installation of over 750 square yards of new asphalt shared-use path, including removal of existing concrete sidewalk, area grading, topsoil, seeding and other related work. Installation of over 750 square feet of new concrete curb ramps and sidewalk, a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon Sign System, storm pipe and other related work. Over 340 square yards of asphalt reconstruction for a basketball court, over 70 square yards of asphalt resurfacing for a shelter house and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 5: Over 2,400 square yards of asphalt pavement expansion and over 6,100 square yards of asphalt resurfacing of existing parking lot, spot full-depth repairs, over 1,100 square yards of non-reinforced concrete pavement, storm sewer and storm structure installation and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 6: Over 1,500 square yards of spot full-depth asphalt repair, over 3,200 square feet of concrete curb ramp and sidewalk replacement and other related work.
  • Additional Bid 7: Over 300 linear feet of 42” storm sewer replacement and other related work.Contract B
  • Base Bid: Street crack sealing with routing and other related work.
The estimated costs of construction for the work outlined in the plans and specifications for the various bids are:

Contract A

Base Bid: $2,224,000

Additional Bid 1: $772,000

Additional Bid 2: $206,000

Additional Bid 3: $101,000

Additional Bid 4: $161,000

Additional Bid 5: $519,000

Additional Bid 6: $320,000

Additional Bid 7: $180,000

Contract B

Base Bid: $170,000

This project includes two Contracts, Contract A and Contract B. Contractors are not required to bid both Contract A and Contract B. However, those submitting bids for Contract A must submit bids for the Base Bid and all Additional Bids in order to be considered. Hard copies of the Contract Documents and Specifications will not be provided. Contract Documents and Specifications may be obtained from Bid Express only and at costs associated with the Bid Express service fee schedule. Payment for these items will not be refunded.

Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same and shall be accompanied by a bond meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and written on the form included with the Contract Documents.

Each Bidder must ensure that no employees and applicants for employment are discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, Vietnam Era nor disabled veterans, or National origin.

Schedule: The work shall commence within sixty (60) calendar days after the City issues the Notice to Proceed for the Contract. The work shall be completed within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days for Contract A, and one hundred eighty (180) calendar days for Contract B from the City’s issuance of the Notice to Proceed for the Contract.

The Bidder is required to state in full detail, with their Bid, their experience in this class of work; bids from contractors inexperienced in this particular class of work may not be considered.

This project requires payment of prevailing wages to all workers during the course of construction activities. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on public improvements in Franklin County and the City of Grove City, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Labor & Worker Safety, Wage and Hour Division, 614-644-2239. State of Ohio prevailing wage rates are included in the Contract Documents and prospective bidders shall take them into account in preparing bids.

The City of Grove City, Ohio, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive technical defects as the interest of the City may require; and, to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the lowest and best bidder for the Contract.

Request For Proposals | Opt-Out Governmental Electric Aggregation Program

Grove City, Ohio is requesting proposals for the provision of full requirement retail electric generation supply from qualified PUCO-certified competitive retail electrical suppliers for the City’s Electrical Governmental Aggregation program, an opt-out electric aggregation program under Ohio Revised Code § 4928.20.

Competitive sealed proposals for providing full requirement retail electric generation supply for the Opt-Out Governmental Electric Aggregation Program are due 4:00 p.m. local time Wednesday, March 30, 2022. Proposals may be submitted by email to Charles W. Boso Jr, City Administrator of the City of Grove City, Ohio or delivered in person in a sealed envelope addressed to Charles W. Boso Jr., City Administrator titled “Aggregation” to 4035 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio 43123.
