City of Upper Arlington issued the following announcement on March 11.
It’s never too early to make summer plans, and for anyone who will be looking for seasonal employment opportunities, UA Parks & Recreation is ready to meet with you.
Two walk-in interview dates are on the schedule over Spring Break. Stop by the Municipal Services Center, 3600 Tremont Road anytime between 10 am-4 pm on Monday, March 14 or Tuesday, March 15, and you’ll be able to complete the application process and have an interview with a member of our team.
Each summer, the City’s workforce expands with the many seasonal positions needed for our warm weather programs. Positions are suitable for high school students seeking their first taste of work experience, college students that are home for the summer, as well as adults and recent retirees with some extra time on their hands that are looking for ways to serve and earn some extra income. The available positions include:
- Lifeguards and outdoor pool operations/management for our three outdoor pool locations
- Summer day camp leaders and assistant directors
- Recreation facility rentals
- Parks service positions
- Senior Center facility attendants
- Safety Town teachers and assistant teachers
- Northam Tennis operations
For lifeguards, compensation starts at $12 per hour and includes an incentive bonus program for eligible staff who work through the Labor Day Weekend. The City provides a Lifeguard Certification course for free, allowing many people to develop the necessary lifeguarding skills.
A referral bonus program is also in place and any new or returning seasonal employees are eligible to participate.
