City of Grove: Road Closures and Construction Updates

City of Grove issued the following announcement on March 16.

Grove City Traffic Updates

SR 104 ROAD WIDENING AND CULVERT REPLACEMENT | March 16 to Nov. 11, 2022

Roadway widening construction is underway for a turn lane and culvert replacement on SR 104, south of White Road to Stringtown Road. Work hours are 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Two-way traffic will be maintained.  Expect intermittent delays in the area. All work is weather permitting.

Plan your commute using posted detours near SR 104, SR 665 and I-71. Drivers are encouraged to use extra care when traveling through the construction area.

A mid-project closure of the roadway is expected Monday, April 22 through Monday, May 23. Watch for updates on the project.

DEMOREST ROAD CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS

Demorest Road is temporarily closed between Grove City Road and Anglebrook Drive, Tuesday, March 15 through Tuesday, March 29 for a culvert replacement, as part of the Demorest Road Improvements project. Anglebrook Drive is accessible by traveling south on Demorest Road from Southwest Boulevard. Properties south of the closure will be accessible from Grove City Road.

OHIO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION CLOSURES

US 62 Southbound I-71 Ramp Closure

The ramp from US 62 to I-71 southbound closes as part of the I-71 widening project in southwest Franklin County. The ramp will be closed until December 2022 as crews replace and reconstruct the southbound side of the I-71 bridge over US 62.

Traffic on I-71 southbound at US 62 will shift to the northbound side. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions. This traffic pattern will be in effect until December 2022.

From time to time, ODOT schedules lane or ramp closures for work in Grove City and southern Franklin County. Visit the ODOT Franklin County Weekly Construction Update web page or call the ODOT customer hotline at 740-833-8014 for additional information.

SPEED LIMIT CHANGE | Haughn Road from Columbus Street to Mayfair Drive

The speed limit on Haughn Road from Columbus Street to Mayfair Drive has been reduced to 25 mph. The change follows a recent traffic study recommendation.

GROVE CITY STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM

The 2022 Grove City Street Program work is planned weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. when work begins. Please plan your commute accordingly and use caution in the construction areas. All work is weather permitting.

Traffic will be maintained with restrictions. All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or canceled without prior notice. Drivers are encouraged to use extra care when traveling through the construction areas.

TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND STREET LIGHTING IMPROVEMENTS

The City of Grove City is conducting a Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Improvement project at four locations throughout the City.

Hoover Road and Kingston Avenue Intersection

Improvements for this intersection include the installation of two mast-arm sign signal supports and associated equipment to convert this T-intersection to a four-way signalized intersection. This project is associated with the Schoedinger Funeral Home site. Intermittent lane restrictions will be in place during work hours.

Please plan your commute accordingly and use caution in the area. All work is weather permitting.
