City of Canal Winchester: Canal Winchester to Host Backyard Conservation Workshop on April 23

City of Canal Winchester issued the following announcement.

Attention local gardeners!  A free backyard conservation workshop is scheduled for April 23, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:30 AM at the Canal Winchester Community Center (45 E. Waterloo St.).  The workshop, offered in partnership with Franklin Soil and Water Conservation District, is entitled Community Backyards. 

Participants will learn the benefits of rain gardens, rain barrels, and composting.  In addition, Canal Winchester’s Urban Forester, Dick Miller, will host a discussion on the topic of ‘Urban Tress for the Future’. Those who attend the free workshop may be eligible to receive a $50 rebate voucher (*dependent on homeowners’ location & while supplies last) on the purchase of an approved rain barrel and/or composter.
