City of Canal Winchester: Bexley Landmark Tree Nominations Are Now Open

15

City of Canal Winchester issued the following announcement on April 4.

The Bexley Landmark Tree program was initiated on Arbor Day in 2005 to recognize significant Bexley trees. Over the past 15 years, the program was dormant but was renewed in April of 2021 by the Bexley Tree and Public Gardens Commission and the City of Bexley Urban Forestry department.

This spring we hope residents nominate their favorite trees for this important title. Trees should be nominated because of their notable species, location, characteristics and/or form. Out of all the trees nominated, Bexley City Council President Troy Markham, Former City Council President and City Council Liaison to the Tree Commission Lori Ann Feibel; and Arbor Day Committee member and Bexley Community Foundation Trustee Sheila Straub will select the winning tree(s). Urban Forester Grant Archer will be overseeing the first round of judging.

To nominate a tree, please click here. The final day to nominate a Landmark Tree is Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
