The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that certain farm-related and nonfarm-related entities in Ohio counties affected by recent droughts are eligible for federal Economic Injury Disaster Loans, according to State Rep. Jeff LaRe (R-Violet Twp.).

The U.S. Department of Agriculture recently declared a natural disaster in 22 Ohio counties, including Fairfield County, and identified 16 additional adjacent counties that may be impacted by drought conditions, resulting in economic losses.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most nonprofit organizations.
