Quiet Reading Room

Bexley area residents, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to join the City of Bexley, Congregation Torat Emet, and Bexley Public Library on December 1st at 5:00 pm for a “Main Street Outdoor Reading Room" Community Workshop. The workshop will take place in the Quiet Reading Room of Bexley Public Library and will focus on proposed plans to develop an outdoor reading space located in between the library and Torat Emet Synagogue on East Main Street.

Conceived more than ten years ago, the original outdoor reading room concept was intended to create an inviting open-air space for library patrons to quietly sit and read. With the recent nationwide rise in popularity of outdoor gathering spaces, this idea has renewed momentum and has been enhanced to include a performance area and to create a more public park-like feel. The “Main Street Outdoor Reading Room” will be a part of the City of Bexley’s 2023 Year of the Park.

Details of the Reading Room’s proposed design will be shared during the workshop, and participants will be encouraged to ask questions and provide input. Questions and input also may be submitted in advance at questions@bexleylibrary.org or by calling Paige Bilotta at 614-545-6942.
