Westerville City Schools kindergarten registration begins Jan. 17 | Westerville City School District
Westerville families can register their incoming kindergarten students for the 2023-24 school year starting Jan. 17.
Kindergarten is required for children before entering first grade; families may register their children for kindergarten if they will be five years old on or before Sept. 30.
WCSD offers half-day kindergarten and all-day kindergarten classes within each home school. All-day kindergarten is a fee-based, lottery program with tuition assistance available for those that qualify. Additional details are available online at www.wcsoh.org/ADK. To be included in the all-day kindergarten lottery, families must complete registration by March 17.
Kindergarten registration kicks off with Kindergarten 101 sessions, which will held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates and at each elementary school:
- Jan. 4: Alcott, Huber Ridge and Whittier
- Jan. 5: Cherrington
- Jan. 10: Mark Twain, Pointview and Robert Frost
- Jan. 11: Annehurst, McVay and Minerva France
- Jan. 12: Fouse, Hawthorne and Wilder
The enrollment process begins with pre-registration online starting Jan. 17. As part of the application, parents must select an Application Review Date for their child’s application to be assigned to an enrollment specialist, who will work with the family, via email, to finalize the registration.
